Please note that we are currently not able to provide courses and workshops due to the restrictions surrounding COVID-19. However, we hope to be back with an exciting new programme in late summer / early autumn.

Whether you are a young person considering a career in marine biology, or a nature enthusiast who’d just like to know more about Ireland’s fascinating marine wildlife, we have a workshop for you!
The Marine Experience workshop is a popular indoor option for primary schools, bringing Ireland’s underwater world into the classroom, whereas The Marine Explorer encourages learning through discovery and exploration on the seashore. Both workshops introduce children to the wonders of nature and the marine environment.
The workshops have been designed to complement each other; they can be run independently or combined for maximum effect. It is also possible to adapt the workshops for adult audiences, including teacher training events. With over thirteen years’ experience guiding schools on coastal field trips, we can also provide advice on suitable locations for excursions.
Our marine environmental educators are also currently developing new workshops for the Marine Institute’s Explorer Education Programme this year, which includes seashore safaris and marine project modules available to Dublin and Wicklow primary schools free of charge.
All these marine biology classes are compatible with the following curricula and programmes:
– SESE curriculum: Living Things, Environmental Awareness and Care.
– Green Schools Programme; Theme 8, Global Citizenship – Marine Environment, Theme 3, Water and Theme 5, Biodiversity.
– Discover Primary Science Scientific Awards of Excellence; Step 2, Visiting Scientist and Step 4, Explorative Activity.
Kids Summer Camps
Our engaging Kids Sea Camps run over the summer school holidays and are a popular option for kids interested in nature and the outdoors. The emphasis is on active learning, with fun engaging field trips and group activities taking place on the seashore every day (weather permitting).
Courses for Teens
Our Introduction to Marine Biology for Teens course is a popular option for teens, especially those interested in pursuing a career in marine biology. Students also get a chance to include snorkelling and SCUBA diving as add ons in their course programme.
Sailing Clubs, Diving Clubs and Sea Scouts
We also provide private lectures and marine biology classes to a wide range of interest groups in Ireland. Our seashore safaris and indoor workshops always receive great feedback. Please get in touch if you are interested in an educational event for your own organisation or group.
